Diamondbacks Game

We went to the Diamondbacks game this weekend with the Smart's & Johnson's and I had a great time chatting with everyone, eating snacks and watching the kids play together.  I know that the D'Backs played the SF Giants and we lost - that's all I know - I have no idea what the score was and can't even think of any of the player's names right now.  Ha!  I love baseball games, but for totally different reasons than my hubby!

*Girls, hope you don't mind I posted your family pics on the blog!

Day to day life

Eating is serious business with Bubba - it seems he's saying, "What the heck, that's all you're going to give me, mom!?  When do I get to have a cheesburger?"

Attacking his pear or banana in those little mesh bags - I love them!

Tea parties!

What a sweet little boy!

In the last two pictures, he had just woken up from his nap.  I love how smiley my babies are to see me when I go in to get them after a nap.  Especially if it was a good nap (let's be truthful here) and they are justing talking and cooing in their crib.  On the weekend, Brandon always races to go get him out of bed first because I think he loves that too.

Disney on Ice: Princess Classics

Brandon took Rachel on a daddy-daughter date to Disney on Ice - Princess Classics and they had a magical time!  We all went out to dinner as a family near Brandon's work then they took the train to US Airways Stadium for the show.  Andrew and I had our own date planned to "Last Chance"!

Rachel wore her princess dress on the train, but wanted to take it off when they got there because it was too itchy.  Her favorites were Sebastian from Little Mermaid and the Beast (who she has a small crush on - she always talks about dancing with the Beast or smiling at him or holding hands with him).  Not quite the conventional "princess" favorites, but oh well.  She got to stay up super late and fell asleep in the car on the way home around 10:30pm!

She's talked about "Princess on Ice" lots and lots for the past week.  I just interviewed her and typed while she talked and this is what she had to say about the show a week later:
"The favorite part was the Beast one.  Because the Beast one was my favorite.  And Gaston was very scary.  And 'Bastian was on there too, I hope.  'Bastian was on there and Ariel was on there too and the was on there too.  And the favorite Genie part was my favorite part and the Genie is nice and happy.  Oh next time I'll have to get a Genie toy ... he he he ... maybe next time."

Waiting for the train/metra

Here she is right before the show with Sebastian!  Nice outfit, right?!

Somedays we're a pretty strange bunch (be sure to notice Andrew's face!)

Spring Cleaning & Haircut?

Ok, so I just made a "Spring Cleaning in 11 days" schedule and am excited to try to get this done in April.  I figured I needed to break it down into bite-size pieces, so I don't get too overwhelmed.  If I post it on the blog, maybe I'll actually complete my project?  My reward is to get my carpets cleaned - fun right?!  And I'm also getting an extension of kitchen cupboards in a few weeks (just a few more to cover a blank wall above the kitchen sink- it's been a project that was planned since we moved into the house).  Yay!

Also, I'm in a serious rut with my hair right now and looking for a change.  I've been doing basically the same thing with it since college - it's long and thick and curly.  Since I've had kids, I wear it curly everyday and straighten it only a couple times a year.  And I totally get that long hair is so "in" right now, but my hair ends up in a ponytail every.single.day.  I don't know what I'm even looking for here - advice, sympathy, suggestions, thoughts?  Maybe shoulder length?  Perhaps some sort of side bang?  I swore I would never go back to bangs, but hmmm.... I have no clue if I could even pull them off or stand to have them in my face.

Otter Pop Season Begins, which means it's going to start getting HOT very soon!

The last two weekends we have been spoiled and Brandon's gotten off early on Friday, so we've done a lot of playing with daddy!

General Conference weekend, Brandon and Rachel kept the tradition alive and slept out back (this time on the trampoline) and made it until midnight and decided they'd sleep better on their own beds.  Brandon and I are not big cuddlers during the night; in fact, we enjoy our separate sides of our king size bed and it's a hard-fast rule not to touch the other person.  Rachel is a huge cuddler (seriously? where'd she come from?)!  On the tramp, Brandon kept trying to inch away from Rachel and she kept scooting closer to him in her sleep.  It makes me giggle just thinking about it!

We also went swimming at our favorite public pool in Chandler, went on walks, played in the sprinklers and ate lots of otter pops!

I also took Bubba to his 6 month appointment and he is over 21 pounds!  He's doing a great job eating his solid foods and is sitting up on his own now.  He seems a bit bashful/shy to strangers sometimes - either that or he's giving his infamous "deer in the headlights" wide-eyed look, but his double-chin smile lights up the room!  His favorites right now are his jumper, taking a bath, and just being outside.  His big sister is the one that makes him laugh the hardest - I know I've said this before, but he just adores her.  Watching them together has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a mom of two.  Remind me that I said this when they are ages 7 & 9, ok?!  :)

She's into dress ups these days and I never know what it's going to be next.

I liked their opposite expressions and that Rachel's in the baby chair and Drew's sitting up like a big boy.

The last few weeks have been hot enough to go swimming and play in the sprinklers!

So sweet!

We love otter pops at our house - especially the big fat ones from Costco

Another General Conference Campout - this time on the trampoline!

Grandpy's Song

Check out Rachel singing Grandpy's favorite song.  When I first went to family dinner at Brandon's house when we were dating, this is the song that his whole family sang to me.  So cheesy and darling at the same time!  And I plan to carry on the tradition with our family and sing it to our kid's friends/dates just to embarrass them.
