July Happenings

- I went to Girls Camp with our ward and was in charge of all the supplies and equipment.  The girls were top notch without much drama!  The leaders were hard to read, but I got along well with a couple of them, and we had a good time.  The most memorable moment was sneaking out of camp with one of the other leaders to go home and grab a few things (we were only 20 minutes away).  We seriously felt like we had to sneak out because other leaders might not have approved, but then we found out after camp that some of those leaders were going home everyday.  What the heck?!  My mom, Nancy, Katherine, Cindy & Katherine all helped with the kids during the day so that Brandon didn't have to take time off of work.  I was so grateful!
- Brandon went to High Adventure with the teachers and they backpacked in and camped all week with only what they could carry on their backs!  Brandon built a shelter for himself, and I am pretty sure he slept in it the last night.
- Lots of friends came to visit - the Perkinson's came to town and so did the Hawks.  Holly's family was in SLC for the weekend, so I took Rachel up to hang out one night.  They all didn't come to see us, per-say, but we got to see them!
- We got to meet cousin Ryan and attend his baby blessing!
- Kendall went on a date with Grandma to the Aquarium!  (Rachel's date was to go BFG and Andrew's was to shop for new clothes)
- Rachel and I got invited to see Alice in Wonderland (junior edition) at the Hale Center Theater.
- We celebrated Brandon's birthday - the big 33!!  (He got back from High Adventure on his birthday.)
- The Henrie family put on a big firework show in their cul-de-sac for Pioneer day.

Rachel's Baptism

We were so happy to celebrate Rachel's decision to be baptized.  Many family and friends came to support her and then came over to our house for a waffle bar & yogurt parfaits.  Here's Rachel's journal entry from her special day:

"Today I got baptized!  Before I felt nervous and excited.  After I felt warm and happy.  My pants were poofy in the font.  I had to do it two times because my leg came up the first time.  After we had waffles.  The people who came were Nana & Papa, Uncle Cade, Grandma & Grandpa Val, Katherine & Kyle, Chad, Cindy, Logan, Hailey & Luke, Chris, Kacie, Cannon, Kennedy, Chase, Cole, Pookie &  Papa, Grandma & Grandpa Thompson, Mason, Brynn, Miles, Grandma Missy & Bompa, Morgan, Leslie, Allie, Gabe & Jordi, Nicole, Paisley & Lily, Kimmy, Olivia, the Sillers, Home Teachers (Davis), Kyle Flanagan, Etta & Pearl, Shalauna & Zac, Jamie, Jonathan, Ethan, Jarom, Liam & Samantha.  I felt warm and happy today.  I had a great day.  I got a necklace, some earrings, a ring, book, notebook, bracelet, fireworks, Book of Mormon, cards, pens and pencils, coloring book and pictures.  From, Rachel  p.s.  When I was confirmed, I had tears of joy and felt the Holy Ghost.  I felt so warm.  Today for my baptism, we went to Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner."

Burrville w/ Hale Family

The second weekend of July, we went to Burrville with the Hale family - we were missing Rachel and Scott since Ryan was just a couple weeks old, but the other Murray cousins were able to come for Rachel's baptism and this trip.  We did lots of relaxing, eating, drinking soda, watching shows, four-wheeling, shooting, fishing, and playing!  Kendall and Cole really became good buddies this trip which was fun to see.
