Fun

Yesterday we went to the "face fountain" and I let Rachel play and run around with the other kids.  She held her own and didn't get sad when she got splashed.  It was a lot of fun!  p.s. Rachel is taking a 2+ hour nap right now, so I just figured out how to add the faded border on the pics.  I need to download some cuter fonts.  I DO NOT get spoiled with long naps, so this is a special treat.  Have a fun day!

Lost

This is what we'll be doing tonight...

... 2 hour Season Finale
Love this show.

If you're not already a fan, I suggest giving Season 1 a try - it's free online or you can rent the DVD's.  But just a warning, that you'll probably be hooked.  In my opinion, it's WAY better than "24" ever was.

A Baby's Laugh is the Best

I'm glad someone thinks I'm funny.  I was feeding Rachel dinner and putting pieces of fruit on my tongue and sticking it out.  She would flick the fruit off my tongue and laugh hysterically.  I guess it doesn't take much.

Happy Mothers Day to me

Being a mom is the best.  And kudos to Brandon and Rachel for making it such a fun weekend. B & R ran some mother's day errands on Friday (I wasn't sure what to do in the house by myself, so I got ready, cleaned, and did some computer stuff...lame, I know).  Brandon did great with Rachel in multiple stores (impressive!) and he only lost one of her toys.  :)  We went to Bongo Room for breakfast yesterday, pancakes in bed this morning, got some new earrings and dried peaches (my fave), and a delicious sandwich for lunch made by B, and we topped it off with a knock-off PF Changs lettuce wrap recipe for dinner.  Yum!  A perfect 1st Mother's Day!

Initially I was supposed to be in Utah this weekend with my mom's, but it's probably best I stayed here (lots to do before we leave) and plus, we can hold out for one more month, right?!  Love you both - happy mother's day!

VIDEO:  Here is a fun video of Rachel walking all over the place.  She thinks she's very independent now that she's walking ... enjoy.

Half Marathon

Today was the half marathon race in Kenosha, Wisconsin and I fortunately had a few friends from the ward run it too.  See picture below - Max & Danielle, Dianna, Ryan & Melanie, Sarah, Melissa, & Katie (Katrina, sorry you got sick and couldn't come - bummer!).

We got up at an insane hour to make the hour and a half drive; the race started at 7am.  It was a beautiful day and beautiful scenery - right along Lake Michigan.  I actually felt really good the whole time and was mentally prepared.  Kind of funny, but this was my thought process at mile 9 (4.2 miles left)... "Ok, Whitney, only 4 miles left.  You CAN do this.  That's only like 40 minutes.  40 minutes...that's a familiar number...oh yeah, that's how long it took to push Rachel out...yep, I would DEFINITELY rather be doing this.  Ok, only 4 miles left."  This is how I get my motivation, I just compare it to child birth and it doesn't seem that bad.  :)  Anyway, I was not as physically prepared as I have been in the past, but it felt good to do another race.  Official time:  2 hr 16 min

The best part about this race was having Brandon & Rachel waiting / cheering for me at the finish line!  Brandon deserves a big thanks for all the support he gave me while I was off doing runs (especially on Saturdays).  Thanks, honey.
