Spring Cleaning & Haircut?

Ok, so I just made a "Spring Cleaning in 11 days" schedule and am excited to try to get this done in April.  I figured I needed to break it down into bite-size pieces, so I don't get too overwhelmed.  If I post it on the blog, maybe I'll actually complete my project?  My reward is to get my carpets cleaned - fun right?!  And I'm also getting an extension of kitchen cupboards in a few weeks (just a few more to cover a blank wall above the kitchen sink- it's been a project that was planned since we moved into the house).  Yay!

Also, I'm in a serious rut with my hair right now and looking for a change.  I've been doing basically the same thing with it since college - it's long and thick and curly.  Since I've had kids, I wear it curly everyday and straighten it only a couple times a year.  And I totally get that long hair is so "in" right now, but my hair ends up in a ponytail every.single.day.  I don't know what I'm even looking for here - advice, sympathy, suggestions, thoughts?  Maybe shoulder length?  Perhaps some sort of side bang?  I swore I would never go back to bangs, but hmmm.... I have no clue if I could even pull them off or stand to have them in my face.

I went through the same thing, which is why I cut my hair short again when Miles was about three months old. My hair was just in a pony tail every day. Now my hair takes less than five minutes to do, and I love it!

I don't have anything helpful to say about curly hair though. I have no experience there. But if you want to go shoulder length, I think you could definitely pull that off. Try to find a really good stylist that can give you meaningful suggestions. And ask for styling tips that you can use later when you're at home trying to figure out how the stylist got your hair to look like that. :)

I understand you about the hair thing! I just wish my hair were curly enough to wear curly. Instead I have to straighten it or just put it in a ponytail.

I just bought a really nice (though expensive) hair straightener and it has made a world of a difference for me!! The brand is ghd. I'm amazed at how FAST and easily it straightens! Now I can let my hair air dry or just do a quick blow dry before straightening. I can even get it perfectly straight after wearing it in a ponytail, being full of kinks. If you think you want to go straight more often, look into a good straightener.

I think you could pull off something shorter! But like Danielle said, find a good stylist that can work with your hair.

Ooh, I've heard the cries of many friends with curly hair. I think shoulder length would be good. Bangs, maybe not so much. I know this isn't helpful but I really like your hair! What about trying a wider variety of styles. Keep it curly but maybe put it in a messy bun or braid it or something.

Good luck!
