Baby ducks are here!

All night long, I dreamt and worried about the ducks - thinking they were arriving, hatching, and pictured them running around everywhere.  So I went out first thing this morning to check on her, and right next to the mama duck was one of her babies, bright and alert.  Then out popped 5 more little heads - so far we've seen 6 of the expected 9.  My kids are loving every minute of this - particularly Rachel - she was so so happy and excited this morning.  I reminded her that we'd only be in the house a few more days and that the baby ducks belonged to the mommy, not us, and she started to cry, which made me want to cry.  Maybe we can visit once we tell the new tenants and we all figure out what they want to do with them.

It was hard to get a picture since they are not leaving the nest yet.  We cannot wait until they are roaming around and hopefully they will try out the makeshift pool/pond.
