We got up at an insane hour to make the hour and a half drive; the race started at 7am. It was a beautiful day and beautiful scenery - right along Lake Michigan. I actually felt really good the whole time and was mentally prepared. Kind of funny, but this was my thought process at mile 9 (4.2 miles left)... "Ok, Whitney, only 4 miles left. You CAN do this. That's only like 40 minutes. 40 minutes...that's a familiar number...oh yeah, that's how long it took to push Rachel out...yep, I would DEFINITELY rather be doing this. Ok, only 4 miles left." This is how I get my motivation, I just compare it to child birth and it doesn't seem that bad. :) Anyway, I was not as physically prepared as I have been in the past, but it felt good to do another race. Official time: 2 hr 16 min
The best part about this race was having Brandon & Rachel waiting / cheering for me at the finish line! Brandon deserves a big thanks for all the support he gave me while I was off doing runs (especially on Saturdays). Thanks, honey.

wohoo, way to go!
Way to go! I'm so impressed and jealous, it's been way too long since I've ran a race.
Whitney, you are awesome! You are totally my hero! How do your legs feel?
Yay! Congrats. You are awesome!
I love your hair in that group picture. Can you email me the group photo? Thanks!
Woot woot! Way to go Whit! Can you someday teach me how to be as tough as you?
Look at you, doing a half marathon less than a year after having a baby!! Wow, you inspire me. So is that how you've gotten so skinny? Good thing you'll be around here after I have the baby so you can help motivate me to get off my butt. You're amazing!!!
Congratulations! Looks like a fun race.
way to go Whitney that is so awesome I am so proud of you!!
Awesome that you ran a half marathon! You've run that one before, right? I hope that in my lifetime I can run even just ONE half marathon!
You did great! I'm so glad that we did this.
Wow good for you. I can't wait to start running again. I won't have time to train for any races but just running again will feel nice. Way to go!
Way to go, and nice hair, MEDUSA!!
