For Memorial Day weekend, we met Brandon's parents in Las Vegas (half way point between Orem & Phoenix) for a quick visit. We celebrated Rachel's birthday (technically, we celebrated mine too) and had a great time on the town! I have to admit, I was unprepared for what Vegas would be like for a 2 year old which lead to some giant tantrums (Rachel wanting to walk through the casino by herself & being tempted by all sorts of toys/candy shops lead to tantrums sprawled out on the dirty floor = lovely). We finally figured out that the casinos were not worth walking through and our best day was when we took Rachel swimming at the pool and then to a park with a splashpad. Duh? right. She also wasn't as excited by the lights/flare that Vegas had to offer, but we weren't there to see the lights - we were there to see Grandma & Grandpy and we had so much fun spending time with them! They spoiled us rotten (as usual!) and it was SO nice to spend our 3 day weekend with family.

Funny story I don't want to forget - you know how Donny & Marie (Osmond) have their show in Vegas now? And you can imagine the large billboards of them all over the place. Well, Rachel was convinced that they were daddy & mommy. So funny - a total resemblance, right?!

That's good to know about taking a two-year old to The Strip. :) We'll have to remember to be careful with that!

I love the collages you do. Such a great way to display so many cute pictures. My mom hasn't stopped talking about all of Rachel's cute and funny things of the trip. I can't wait to see you guys in a couple weeks.

Such great pics Whit. I love the one of you and Rachel especially. Gosh, I haven't looked at your blog for a while. It was fun to see all the pictures you've taken and read your posts of your happenings as a family. It is so fun to hear about it but to see pictures makes it that much better. Yay, for summer and Yay for swimming, vacationing, yummy cinnamon rolls, spending fasts, and a wonderful friend to spend time with. : )
