1. Read more & watch less TV (for me personally and also me with the kids)
2. Format & print one blog book and edit 1 year of videos
3. Emergency Preparedness (water storage & make 72 hour kits)
4. Focus on the positive (tricky to measure this goal, but I want to work on this)
Our 2014 family goal is to establish regular chores for the whole family.
Boom. It's gonna be a great year.
Follow up on 2013 Goals:
This was not my most successful year on goals, but at the beginning of 2013, I was not considering how jarring 2 moves plus landscaping an entire yard would be on my day-to-day life. I also got a side job that took up a lot of my free time that I once had. It was still a great year and we feel very blessed!
1. Run a half marathon (#7!) and eat more fruits and vegetables YEP! I ran my race July 24th this year. Although, I do this strange thing at home with fruits/vegs - I save the produce for my kids if it's yummy rather than eat it myself, just hoping that they will eat more of it the next day. It's either that or I want to buy myself a day of not having to run to the store for more fruit, so I go without and feed it to my kids. I need to take care of myself too! One thing that did help me this year was my blendtek and lots of yummy smoothies!
2. Make daily prayers more meaningful - particularly in parenting matters Guys, I need some help on this one.
3. Format and print one blog book and make a DVD of one year of family videos EPIC FAIL!
4. Stick to our budget and the financial goals we've set for this year GREAT EFFORT. We had some serious blessings this year with the sale of our first house, paying off "some" student loan debt, me getting a work opportunity, and getting into a new house - I feel like Heavenly Father helped a lot with this one this year, and we are very grateful.
5. Continue emergency planning (rotate food in 72 hour kits, figure out water storage, 3 months snacks/fruits/vegetables/extras, emergency fund) Not much progress … MAYBE NEXT YEAR!
Our 2013 family goal is to do service together as a family at least once a month. YEP! Brandon deserves most the credit on this one since he was always willing to take the big kids to set up chairs, clean the church, set up/take down temple lights, etc.
The Christmas posts are coming soon! Here's my favorite picture of the bunch:
